Questions?

The GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit is designed to be connected to your pond, tank or other existing water body. Once you have set up your pump, filter and beds, the water should flow through your system and back into your pond without any trouble.

Your GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit requires a flow rate of approximately 1500 to 2000 litres per hour.

Your pump should send water from your pond to the top row of your aquaponics set up.

This area will then slow fill and overflow via an automatic siphon to the lower set of grow channels.

Once it has flowed through this area it will be automatically siphoned from your aquaponics system and back to your pond.

Once you’ve made sure everything works correctly, you can start adding your plants to the grow beds and from there all you need to do is make sure that your GrowEasy Aquaponics system is properly maintained.

When established, your plants will use the fish waste for food and filter the water that flows through their root system for your fish.

If you’d like a walk through of an established system, please refer to the video at the top of this page.

Your GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit is designed to be as easy as possible to put together. An individual with basic assembly skills should be able to construct the system in an hour or less.

You may find it easier to set up your system with the help of a flat head screwdriver and a soft hammer, however this is not required.

You can watch the set up video on this page.

Your GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit should be placed in an area where there is adequate sunlight and room to grow for your chosen plants.

Your aquaponics set up should be located as close to your pond as is practical.

If you don’t have an existing collection of fishy friends, you can check out this article for advice on which are best to start out with.

You can source your fish from LiveFish Australia. We recommend that you stock a minimum of 10 fish with the smallest acceptable pond size being approximately two hundred litres.

Fish should be fed with high quality fish food daily

Note: The higher the quality of your fish food, the better the yield you will get from your plants.

You can grow almost any plant you’d like in your system but if you’re after some guidance for good, beginner friendly varieties, you can check out this article.

Sticky paper should be used to prevent small flying insects from causing damage to your system. Additionally, a jar lid with some beer in it should keep slugs and snails away from your plants.

If birds are an issue for you, install a scarecrow like disturbance that will scare them away.

Your aquaponics system will require the same maintenance as a regular garden. Plants will need to be cared for and pruned as necessary and will need to be removed/replaced when their growing season has ended.

You should also vacuum out or clean your grow channels from time to time.

An additional biological filter is always recommended in order to ensure that all pollutants are broken down and removed from the water so that your fishy friends stay safe.

Your GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit should be considered a supplementary filter.
